I pretty much wear the same outfit everyday lately. It’s been extremely cold and they’re being sick for the last week and a half, I’ve been cold inside too.
Years ago Sam bought me for Hanes long sleeve shirts. They’re all the same color dark blue. Normally I put a short sleeve shirt over top this, feeling like I’m a high school student again.
But as I was sick and that didn’t feel warm enough. And a sweater felt too warm. But a long sleeve shirt and a button down shirt over top of it, that was perfect.
Not a look I normally go for but it was the right warmth. So I wore it daily since last Tuesday.
I like classical music. It is perfect for quiet mornings and evenings. Puts the girls to sleep quickly, although Kenny Loggins does that as well (big win for me).
I’m not sure where I found or discovered Alexis Ffrench, but his music is amazing. I like Songbird a lot, and sometime put it on repeat while walking in the woods.
At one point in time there were four Alberts in my family. Me, my dad, grandfather, and great grandfather.
I love this picture. Not for the fact that it’s 4 Alberts although that is pretty cool, but that it’s 4 generations of Charpentiers.
Now I have two daughters. So no new Albert here – although each time we were figuring out names I joked about Alberta. Honestly not a big deal at all, my daughters fucking rock. They are more amazing than anything I could have imagined before kids.
But it doesn’t make this picture any less awesome either.
Just a trial easy run to see if running in 32°F was something I wanted to do. And I’m not convinced either way right now. I bought lightweight gloves, Sam got me a hat with LEDs, I layered (loosely).
And I was warm. My hands actually sweat during the run. And it was fine. So maybe not every morning when it’s cold, but maybe once or twice a week.
I yeah, anyone with eyes knows bots are all over social media.
But the study found that political campaigns are way more likely to be influenced by adopting talking points put forward by bots than both average citizens or the press.
Think about that. The public, average social media users and just normal people are less likely to be influenced by, and more likely to recognize and dismiss bots than the people running political campaigns.
Let’s start with Friday. Edith has outgrown many of the dress up outfits we have, so Sam and I sought to replace some of them recently.
In that vein, two Batgirl costumes arrived in the mail Friday. Edith immediately went to town dressing up
I don’t post many pictures of my girls here for multiple reasons, but I can’t resist this one.
We have a friend in the neighborhood who comes and has playdates with the girls on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Marceline, Edith, and their friend dressed up in different Batgirl costumes and played it for 2 hours after they got home from school. It was wonderful to see.
Then Sam and I took the girls to see Labyrinth at a movie theater neither of our girls have been to a movie theater before. We have gone to the drive-in once but not a movie theater.
They’ve seen Labyrinth before, so made a good excuse to go see it at the theater. They love the experience, getting popcorn and reclining in beach chairs and just seeing something on the big screen. They asked if we could go every day.
Saturday we didn’t do much at all. Relaxed around the house played some video games. Sam took Edith out shopping for new clothes. Marceline and I stayed home and did some computer junk (code.org). I managed to get our supposedly outdated desktop computer upgraded to Windows 11. Which felt like a nice accomplishment.
Yesterday we did a ton of cleaning and organizing around the house. The Bills won the wild card game in the playoffs. The girls built farts and generally played the best they played, and the longest they’ve played, with each other without any arguing in a long time.
And this morning I got up and ran four miles on the treadmill.
