Grasping at Straws

02042012AJCI’m working my way up to having scanned all of my drawings.  In July I scanned almost 10 months of Daily Drawings and this weekend I scanned another month Daily Drawings. Today I got up and scanned another 14 Daily Drawings.  It has gotten me up to Valentine’s Day 2012.

That still leaves me a year and a half behind on scanning.  But I’m getting there.  It’s going to be a long process.  But I’ve been drawing more lately, and it makes me want to scan in more so that I can start my Daily Drawing uploads each evening.

Anyways… I’ve spent more time this last week reading, drawing and putting in ‘relaxing time’ into my day; including actually taking a lunch break at work.  It’s done wonders for me.  I forgot how much I loved reading a good book.  I forgot how much I loved drawing on a daily basis, like actually drawing… spending time on it instead a quick drawing.

It’s been good.  Next I’ll get back into biking.  Its been about two weeks since I biked.  Between wet weather, having to wear glasses (for 4 days before LASIK consultation) and general long work hours I haven’t gotten out for a ride in a while.  But I’ll get back on it this week.

So yes… I’m doing things I need to in order to be relaxed and happy.  Getting caught up on drawings, getting into a good routine with built in relaxing activities, staying in shape, and keeping the apartment clean (I threw the last one in as a far reaching goal).

That’s not grasping at straws is it?  I mean its really just an extension of my summer goals.  I’m still working on it.  Prioritizing and all.  And it’s working pretty well I think.

Robot Kisses

I hate shaving.

I mean really dislike shaving a lot.  As it is I only shave once every two weeks or so.  Even that I hate.  I’ve been contemplating this year about getting a safety razor, but then I realized that it would only mean spending more time shaving when I shaved.

So I decided to get an electric razor.  I haven’t bought one in just under a decade.  It’s old and doesn’t hold a charge.  It doesn’t shave well anymore and i’m not really interesting in buying a new blade for it.

So in my research I’ve found one electric razor that got high marks over and over again.  Gizmodo said it was like removing hair with robot kisses.  That sounds like the razor I want to use.

Use for less than 30 seconds a day.  Cause that’s how much facial hair I grow daily.

So I’m going with the Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D.  I found a pretty good deal on it too.

Let’s hope its removing facial hair with robot kisses for me too.

Consult Day… Wooooooo

02012011AJC

So I have a LASIK consultation today.

I’ve talked about getting LASIK for several years, and with my insurance and flex spending it seems like it is the right time. Besides…. I hate waking up and not being able to see… to the point that most nights I sleep with my glasses on so that when I wake up I can see across the room. How I’ve done that for ten plus years and not broken my glasses I don’t know, but I have.

Anyways… hopefully all goes well, I can hand them some money and my flex spending card, and get my eyes fixed somewhere soon down the road. Over the phone they seemed pretty eager to get me in for a meeting so they can take my money, so that part won’t be hard at least.

Shook Up

AJC10132009I had one of those quick dreams last night as I laid in bed trying to sleep.

I closed my eyes, and was still thinking when I entered a quick dream. In it I was walking down the street and when I fell and my whole body shook, waking me up.

The whole thing; closing my eyes, dreaming about walking down the street and falling, whole body shaking, and waking up; couldn’t have taken more than a second or two.

I love it. That kind of weird dream stuff…. awesome.
