Dear Warm Fluffy Blue Towel

Dear Warm Fluffy Blue Towel,

I hate you.  You’re only warm because you’re in the bathroom, the smallest room of the apartment with its own heater.  And your fluffiness, oh you’re soft, so very soft, but you don’t dry at all.  I hate stepping out of the shower and trying to dry off with you. You just don’t do the job well.

Now, Grating Tan Towel, well… I feel you rip off a few layers of skin when I dry off with you.  But at least I’m dry.  So I’ll choose you over Blue Towel any day.

Your Friend and Mine,

AJ

Brackets

At work we fill out out NCAA brackets every March. I don’t follow basketball at any level, so my picks are more guesses than anything else.

Like a school name… Picked them to win.

Bad memories associated with that state… They’re going to lose.

Louisville. Number one for a reason.

Picked to win.

Muscle Twitch

For the last several days I’ve had a weird muscle twitch in my arm.  It is in my triceps on my left arm.  Just random twitches, usually two or three in a row.

Its nothing big, and really has no impact except that it’s annoying.  I’ve read differing reasons on the internets why this could happen, mostly that it could be dehydration.  I drink a lot of water but maybe that is what’s going on.

Just… weird.

Feeling a muscle twitch for a second or two and then stop is bizarre.

Asleep

I can fall asleep anywhere.  It’s impressive when you think about it.

I’ve fallen asleep in church (not that impressive).

In a moving car (some people can’t).

Standing Up.

When someone is talking to me (again, not that impressive).

Immersed in back and forth conversation with someone.

Mid-sentence. (that one surprises even me)

While getting a haircut (that was yesterday).

While getting stitches in my chin (that one surprised the doctor putting the stitches in, it was a first for him).

I even have those quick dreams that make quasi sense, building off of what I was just doing.  I had a dream once while I was laying on the floor talking a friend.  I just sort of stopped talking (fell asleep mid-sentence) and had the “walking off a cliff dream” where I was walking and then shook myself awake because in my dream the floor was yanked out from under me and I started falling.

Its not narcolepsy.  I’m just that awesome when it comes to sleeping.

Longest Week Ever

03032011AJCThis has been the longest week ever.

And it started with having to go into work for 5 and half hours on Sunday, which was the nicest day this year so far.  Every day since has had its own crisis at work, and that on its own wouldn’t be bad, but coupled with poor sleep from Daylight Savings and I’ve been a tired mess at night.

But for fun lets create a list of plusses from this week:

  • I went for a walk on Sunday after work for a few hours.  In short sleeves.  It was really nice.  Got to watch chunks of ice in Lake Erie melt and disappear while I was on my walk.  That’s a little unique.
  • I exercised several times after taking over a month off to get some motivation back.
  • I weighed myself.  I weigh in around 171 – 173 on a daily basis.  That’s not bad considering I basically gorged on food while not exercising.
  • I bought a new sketchbook and am on my way to catching up on drawings.
  • The Sabres won.
  • I made Blonde Brownies and they are amazing.
  • Sam tried the tofu recipe my sister Carrie gave us.  It turned out great.
  • I spent $122.32 since last weekend.  Considering $85 of it was on car insurance, $13.27 was on my sketchbook, and $10 was on gas that is really good.  I’ve started tracking what I spend money on with an app on my phone called Next.  Its quick and easy.  Just what I need.
  • I found the bike I want.  I just need to got get it.  Well not get it but put it on layaway so I can get it soon.
  • It was my nephew Wyatt’s birthday yesterday.  He’s awesome.
  • I haven’t worn a tie (or at least not the right way) all week.
  • I have tickets for an event at the Cleveland Natural History Museum tonight for Sam and I.
  • It’s Friday.

See.  For a long horrible week, a lot good has happened.
