Not Saying

I’m not saying I have nothing to write about, but rather I’ve been pretty busy lately.  And when I have had stuff come to mind I haven’t had my computer nearby or had the time to tap it out on my phone.

But in general life goes well.  The big July 4th yesterday (which was rather a calm day).  It sort of brought my whole “I’m not a big holiday person” persona to the front.  I don’t get it.  I just don’t really care for holidays.  But that’s just me.  And the Fourth of July usually trends towards my not liking big crowds of people (I always say it brings out my hatred of people in general, but hatred is the wrong word.  It brings out how annoying people can be in a large crowd setting.)

But Sam and I walked around Edgewater late at night and saw some fireworks while we weaved in and out of slow walking lines of people.  And Sunday we finally used our zoo membership and visited the zoo.  Which I can honestly say, I enjoy the zoo a whole lot more as an adult than I think I ever possible did as a kid.  Sam and I joked about the rarity of people our age going to the zoo unless the have kids.  It seems crazy, but I love the zoo.  I’ve gone by myself before.  I love just being close to animals.  The Giant Tortoises, they’re my favorite.

Even if all they do is lay in the mud and look dead.

Gas Prices

I’m at the same gas station I filled up at this morning. It was $3.14 then. When I drove by at 3:45 this afternoon it was still $3.14. Right now, 6:55 pm, three hours later, Sam is filling up her car. Gas is $3.45.

What the fuck?

Tired… Yet Wide Awake

I’m really tired…. Yet wide awake.

It’s kind of annoying. But I guess it’s as good of time as any to update my blog. Little noises seem really loud right now. For example… One of my cats just shook their head. Ear flapping noise was pretty loud. Wind outside… Loud. Neighbor’s tv (across the lot in the other building)…. Loud.

Of course none of those really are loud right now. This makes night number two in a row that I’m not sleeping well. I’m out on the couch so as not to disturb Sam while she’s sleeping. Although Ginger is running around making noise (again that probably only seems loud to me).

Running has been pretty good. I’ve got to get out of the earlier this morning if I want up my mileage. I’ve been getting out the door at 6:45 which only leaves me enough time to run two miles before heading to work. I’d like to make three miles my easy run, but haven’t quite found a good three mile path. I have a two mile path down, and a 3.6 mike one, and I think I have a five miler I can do. Vibrams are holding up strong. No bunion pain. No shin pain. Both good signs.

Oh well. Time to relax and hopefully fall asleep. Cartoons or video games? Or maybe just read til I pass out? My stomach is rumbling loudly. Or is it just loud to me?
