Robot Kisses

I hate shaving.

I mean really dislike shaving a lot.  As it is I only shave once every two weeks or so.  Even that I hate.  I’ve been contemplating this year about getting a safety razor, but then I realized that it would only mean spending more time shaving when I shaved.

So I decided to get an electric razor.  I haven’t bought one in just under a decade.  It’s old and doesn’t hold a charge.  It doesn’t shave well anymore and i’m not really interesting in buying a new blade for it.

So in my research I’ve found one electric razor that got high marks over and over again.  Gizmodo said it was like removing hair with robot kisses.  That sounds like the razor I want to use.

Use for less than 30 seconds a day.  Cause that’s how much facial hair I grow daily.

So I’m going with the Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D.  I found a pretty good deal on it too.

Let’s hope its removing facial hair with robot kisses for me too.

Consult Day… Wooooooo

02012011AJC

So I have a LASIK consultation today.

I’ve talked about getting LASIK for several years, and with my insurance and flex spending it seems like it is the right time. Besides…. I hate waking up and not being able to see… to the point that most nights I sleep with my glasses on so that when I wake up I can see across the room. How I’ve done that for ten plus years and not broken my glasses I don’t know, but I have.

Anyways… hopefully all goes well, I can hand them some money and my flex spending card, and get my eyes fixed somewhere soon down the road. Over the phone they seemed pretty eager to get me in for a meeting so they can take my money, so that part won’t be hard at least.

Shook Up

AJC10132009I had one of those quick dreams last night as I laid in bed trying to sleep.

I closed my eyes, and was still thinking when I entered a quick dream. In it I was walking down the street and when I fell and my whole body shook, waking me up.

The whole thing; closing my eyes, dreaming about walking down the street and falling, whole body shaking, and waking up; couldn’t have taken more than a second or two.

I love it. That kind of weird dream stuff…. awesome.

Parental Units

I’ll admit. I have some pretty awesome parents.

I’m lucky in that sense. I’ve never been embarrassed by my parents. They are just genuinely nice friendly people. So when they were out to visit this last weekend it was a lot of fun.

They didn’t get in until Saturday around noon. Sam and I took them out to lunch (Aladdin’s) and then went to the Rocky River Nature Center and did some trail walking. It’s a nice view of the Cleveland area that you don’t get unless you make an effort to get there. For dinner Saturday we hit Happy Dog. Best vegan sausages (or hot dogs) and Tatter Tots ever served at a pub.

We played cards Saturday night. That’s what my family does.

Sunday we hit Coffee Pot (best hole-in-the-wall breakfast place out here), then went to the Cleveland Museum of Art for a few hours before meeting Sam’s parents at Debonne Winery, music and general outdoor awesomeness. It was the perfect slightly cloudy warm weather.

Sam and I made pizza from scratch for dinner Sunday night. We played some more cards and watched a little tv to relax. I had to work Monday, so my parents did what my parents do when they can…. they went to the casino. They also hit up the West Side Market. For dinner we all got Melt.

Tuesday morning they even made it out to the school I work at and met some co-workers before taking off for Atlantic City.

See… I don’t make plans per say when people visit, I’m actually a horrible planner. But there’s a lot more to do in Cleveland than just the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and I do a good job of winging it. And we definitely made the best out of the time my parents were here.

Robot Dreams

01032012AJC

I had this dream that humans lived on the moon in one dome, and robots lived in another dome.  Neither could survive in the others dome, and they largely ignored each other.  Viewed from afar it had that eerie space quality, both dark and bright all at the same time.  The domes almost glowed against the gray moon landscape.  They were so close to each other they almost touched.

On this particular day it was the robot leader’s birthday.  Even though they ignored each other, it was customary to send a present to other dome.  There was no way to automatically send a present over to the other dome, so whomever (or whatever in the case of a robot) had to dress up in a special suit to survive in the other’s, horrible inhospitable dome.

I was the human sent to the robot dome with his present.  It was a typical bubble helmet suit.  The walk to the robot dome was quick, taking only a few seconds.  It was more walking across the street than to some other environment entirely.  Surprisingly, once in the dome, it looked exactly like the human dome.  I walked around the halls and rooms of the robot dome looking for something, anything to give this present to so I could go home.  But I found no one.  It was completely empty.

….. and that’s where I woke up.

It was weird.
