I’d like to think…

I’d like to think I have a very distinctive stomp when coming inside from snowy weather. I stomp pretty loudly in a one-two with my right foot and a one stomp with my left foot all while staying in complete stride never slowly down.

It could just be me, but I assume its like announcing myself while getting snow off my shoes.

Standing, spaces and other stuff

I’ve been looking at a couple random things lately. One of the top things I’ve been looking at is a standing desk. I read an article on Lifehacker about standing at a desk instead of sitting at a desk all day long. Particularly when using the computer. It made some sense to me and I kind of like the idea. While I can’t buy a new desk for work, or even have space in my office for a new desk, it still sounds like an interesting idea. Although, the one thing they talk about in depth is comfortable footwear while standing, and my shoes are not as comfy as running shoes are, which is what they recommend in the articles.

Another couple of articles I read regarded spaces after sentences. There apparently is a hot debate about one space or two spaces after a sentence. I’m currently typing this with only one space after each sentence, but man is it taking a lot of thought and effort to do that. I’m of the two spaces after a sentence person. Its ingrained at this point. Its how I was taught to type and man do I want to hit that space bar twice quickly after each sentence. And if two spaces really bugs someone as ‘wrong’ then they have a problem.

Last night Sam and I hit up Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School. Its basically a bar with a DJ and a model. It cost ten bucks, you can draw with whatever you want (as long as its not messy) and for two and half hours you get to sketch and draw peculiar models. Last nights model was a contortionist named Schmoo. Its fun, but difficult to get used to. But if you want something different, and want to drink at a bar while drawing in a light laughing atmosphere, its for you. They’re all over the place, look them up.

The Saddest Day

Yesterday was Blue Monday. Did you know that? Supposedly, according to some odd statistics and funky math, it’s the saddest day of the year.

It all seems to be an advertising scheme, or that’s how I read into it. And even more so dubious yesterday (the 17th) and next Monday (the 24th) could both be considered Blue Monday. It’s a crappy year that has two saddest days of the year.

On Wednesday…

On Wednesday I was walking down the hall at work and shin cracked and I almost fell over in pain. It went away after half an hour but man did it kill.

Later in the day while driving I sneezed so hard that my titanium hurt. It’s said that when you sneeze all your muscles tense up. That might have something to do with it. It wasn’t a nice feeling that’s for sure.

A smashing New Year

2011 came in a decent way.  Sam and I headed over to her friends for a small gathering.  It wasn’t the most interesting gathering I’ve ever been at, but they did have some good homemade food that was pretty tasty (But really, no games, no things set up, just sort of sitting, and talking…. although they have just moved in).

However the smashing-ness of the evening didn’t come until later.  Sam and I left at 12:40 and walked out to her car in front of the house.  Out there we noticed her trunk was open, and in our optimism of the new year we figured we must have hit the button accidentally, or something to that sort.  We didn’t laugh about it, but did nonchalantly brush off the seriousness of it, until of course we walked around the driver side and saw her window was smashed.  Her car was a mess, everything had been gone through and tossed about.  Thankfully nothing was taken, but glass was everywhere and the 2011 suddenly took a turn for a worse.  Three cars on the street had been broken into.  The police, since it was New Year’s Eve, were obviously busy with other things, and I’m pretty sure they  couldn’t have done anything at all anyways.

So if 2011 starts on a low note, it has nowhere to go but up.  At least that’s what we decided.  So it was a smashing New Year’s Eve, that will hopefully lead to a fantastic whole year.
