Pretty sure one of the first things Marceline is going to do when she can talk this question why we have different breakfast.
Today for breakfast Marceline had some banana and peanut butter oatmeal, half an orange, and milk.
I had coffee and two cookies.
For years when driving coffee at home, I would only drink it off my Denny’s mug.
I still this mug from a Denny’s in Queensbury one night after a summer full of many late night Denny’s trips. I loved that it had the Denny’s logo printed on it. I hope that restaurant forgives me, but it was a memorable summer, we even got kicked out of Denny’s once for playing cards there while drinking coffee and eating greasy appetizers.
Okay, not kicked out. But told we had to stop playing cards. According to the waitress who told us this, the manager said playing cards prevented ‘customer turnover.’ when we replied that there is only two other tables with customers in the entire restaurant and that it was near 2 a.m., she just shrugged her shoulders.
I read someplace that Denny’s doesn’t put the logo on their coffee mugs in there restaurants anymore because so many people stole them. You can buy Denny’s coffee mugs with a logos on them but not drink from them in restaurants. I don’t know if that’s true or not. I haven’t been to a Denny’s in probably 8 years. Regardless, this mug is probably 20 years old now and my favorite coffee mug.
Today, I used two different mug. My mustache mug was a gift from my mother-in-law several years ago. it is been my go-to coffee mug at work. Kids absolutely loved that it just had this really weird mustache face on the front of it.
At at home, Danny mug got me close to 4 full cups of coffee from my French press. that would take me well into the morning, and I feel like I’m drink a lot of coffee at that point.
At work, I would drink three to four mugs of the mustache mug of coffee each day. Sometimes more oh, because kids used to love making me coffee and I could never say no and tey asked.
However, the mustache mug only gets full twice from a French press, and not even to the top. I’m already done with my French press a coffee and it’s 9 am.
Itit does seem to illustrate the difference in the amount of coffee I drank at work versus the amount of coffee I drink at home. Since I’m going to be staying home for the next year, do I resort to the mustache mug and drink from that knowing I’ll drink more coffee comparable to what I drink at work or do I stick to the Denny’s mug which is my traditional mug at home.
I’m probably going to fall back to the Denny’s mug just because I enjoy drinking out of that mug so much more than the mustache mug. I feel like the mustache mug is for sure, in the Denny’s mug is just comfort.
This seems to happen whenever I stay with a friend. I generally am up before them and sit around wondering where the coffee is until they get up.
Do Georgia’s license plates really day coffee on them? This one on the car parked in front of me clearly does. And I’m kind jealous.
I didn’t sleep well last night. I woke up at 4:15am and was up for almost an hour. And despite trying to get to bed at a decent hour I didn’t fall asleep until after midnight, mostly due to the hours I kept over the last week.
It was Spring Break and I stayed up late watching movies and playing video games with Sam. It was cold all break except for this last weekend. During which I did get two rides in on my new bike!!!!
But about my good morning. Well I woke up a little groggy at 6am, but refreshed after having managed to get back to sleep. I headed towards the shower and put on WGR 550 to listen to sports talk about the Sabres game. At no point in my youth would I ever have imagined I’d listen to sports radio, ever, least of all first thing in the morning.
BUT, what made it better than just talk about a Sabres victory last night was that the opening intro music was Bottles to the Ground by NOFX. A little punk music as soon as I tune in before I even hear a voice. Fantastic.
The morning gets even better. I purposely pick out my Space Invaders socks for this morning, and after a shower head to the kitchen to make coffee. Not just any coffee, I ordered whole bean coffee from TIM HORTON’S. Tim Horton’s exist all of western New York, but not in Cleveland (however I’ve seen them in Toledo). I found a two pound bag of coffee on Amazon for $12.99. So I fill my Denny’s mug with Tim Horton’s coffee and sit at the table to read the news.
Next amazing thing happens, WGR plays Brass Monkey by the Beastie Boys for an intro. Fantastic. Couldn’t be better.
Seriously. Bottles to the Ground, Space Invaders Socks, Tim Horton’s Coffee and Brass Monkey. It’s a good combination.
Its snotty. I’m fairly certain it is snotty. Which is what I am this morning. Pretty snotty. One of those snotty mornings where you blow your nose and immediately realize you should have used six tissues instead of one because you completely destroyed the one you used.
That paragraph alone proves this wasn’t a snooty post.
Anyways, being a Buffalo Hockey fan means my nights haven’t been that great lately. I was listening to NHL radio over the weekend and they talked about how bi-polar the Sabres are. When they are there on, there is no defense against them. Unfortunately they aren’t on often, or for even a whole game. Basing my nights around hockey games is getting sad, but dammit I bought NHL GameCenter to watch these games, and like any true fan, I’ll still watch their games, even when horrible.
But… despite the Sabres loss and my snotty morning, Angelo is make me feel better. Cause he’s a cat and can do things like that.
