I had a dream…

IV Lego

Of New York City.  How strange is that?

And it wasn’t last night.  Last night was this big gap of nothingness.  No dreams, nothing to recall.

But a few nights ago I dreamt of New York City.  Of meeting friends at club there.  A club in some warehouse area that I walked to.  But had a skateboard.  And the people there weren’t really friends, but more old classmates.  Seriously, Matt Thompson, we didn’t hang out in high school.  I’m sure you’re a daper guy, but I haven’t thought about you since we graduated.  Maybe even before that.  But at this club, Matt Thompson, Chris Rabideau (have no idea how to spell his last name without a yearbook), Jen Olden, and some other person I recognized but couldn’t recall their name (maybe someone named Katie or Jamie…. Jamie Glen-something… I don’t know).  All in this club doing whatever people do in clubs.  I’m not sure about that either.  There wasn’t music.  It was dark and there was a bar and weird flashy lights.  And a coatroom.  I remember the coatroom very well.  Cause I checked in my skateboard.  That makes it a club right?

So yeah…. my friends from back when… Colin, Shane, Yousey, Kevin, and Reg.  You ditched me in my dreams.  You bastards.

Thumb Pain

Last week I had the thumb pain dream again.

Its hard to describe but in my dream I feel like I can’t keep my thumb straight.  It feels painful and hyperextended.  I spend the whole dream, whatever it is about , holding my thumb with my other hand trying to keep it straight.  I’ve written about this in the past.  The whole dream is, well, just painful.

I generally wake up holding my thumb and honestly believe my brain is making it hurt.

Sometimes I think dreams I have are reoccurring, only to realize they just felt familiar and only happened that one night.  Thankfully I have a blog post a few years ago.  I’m sure I’ve had it since then but man did it hurt last week.

Thumb Pangs

Anyways, I woke up to this today.

Angelo in the morning

A little bit of this

08292011AJCI go throw these streaks where I have pretty vivid dreams for a month or so and then they stop.  So last night I had a pretty vivid dream, and being that all I did yesterday was work, buy new shoes, and watch the Sabres lose… well a vivid dream is a lot more interesting to write about than any of those.

It begins with me stealing something from a skyscraper.  Not just any skyscraper, but one of the World Trade Center Towers. Only its after it had fallen down, but was intake.  No rubble, no broken windows, nothing.  Its like someone had grabbed it, snapped off the top 20 floors and laid it on its side.  However, despite it being on its side gravity inside the building worked as normal.  I knew it was on its side, but I still walked down stair cases, jumped railings, and even used a fire pole inside the building to get out.

And I walked out the bottom into a rocky landscape.  My whole family was there, but it was when I was a teenager.  It was some rocky British coastline beach.  There were all the dragonfly looking bugs.  When they landed on you they didn’t bite you, but burrowed under your skin.  I looked at my arm and saw the impression of a whole bunch of bugs there.  I pinched the impression of a bug and had to rip it out from under my skin.  It didn’t hurt, but was kind of bloody.  I didn’t think much of it.

The beach had a shallow wading pool in it.  Just an area where fish were getting trapped.  I sat by it watching them swim around until I realized the water level had rose and some were nibbling my toes.  At this point someone on the beach had just realized that the bugs had burrowed themselves into peoples arms and started screaming.  I tried to tell people it wasn’t a big deal but, understandable, people where freaked out.

That’s when I woke up. I never did figure out what I was stealing.  The whole thing looked a little dystopian with the broken skyscraper in the background the whole time.  Weird…  But interesting at least.

Imaginary Ankle Sprains

05162011AJCI have trouble when I watch movies where people sprain their ankles.  Break a bone, lose a limb, all bloody…. doesn’t affect me.  Sprained ankle.  I’ll twinge and look away.

So when I have a dream where I sprain my ankle, I wake up and my ankle definitely feels like it has been sprained.

Awesome.

That Dream

IV LegoI had a high school dream last night.

It wasn’t so much about high school as it involved high school people.

Well not even that, but Shane, Reggie, Colin and Yousey (why I continually refer to him as Yousey instead of Dan I’ll never know).

And they weren’t so much involved in the dream as people on the side.

It did start off in my high school parking lot.  I was trying to drive home but my car was stalled.  Colin and Reggie drove by, with Reggie in the passenger seat.  He unrolled his window like he was going to say something to me but instead drove by laughing (maybe Colin was laughing, he was driving).

Yousey was in the parking lot somewhere.  With no ride I started walking home through the Potter Road Woods.  But really it was the woods up on the mountain below Shane’s house.  I did have my cell phone with me and decided to call Shane for a ride.  He informed me he was too busy reading a book to come get me.  In my dream…. that made absolutely perfect sense and I didn’t argue with him.

I think it started to rain and turned to night immediately after I talked to Shane.  I just kept on walking.  Its one of those parts I can picture in my head but can’t remember from the dream.  I think my brain is trying to fill in gaps.

Anyways, I walked til there was snow overlooking a lake, or maybe it was one of the reservoirs up on the mountain.  I don’t know.  But I got there, and it was snow covered but  clear night.  And I sat down. But it wasn’t cold.

And then I woke up.

Wasn’t a bad dream.  Kind of nice in that nostalgic sort of way.

Robot Dreams

01032012AJC

I had this dream that humans lived on the moon in one dome, and robots lived in another dome.  Neither could survive in the others dome, and they largely ignored each other.  Viewed from afar it had that eerie space quality, both dark and bright all at the same time.  The domes almost glowed against the gray moon landscape.  They were so close to each other they almost touched.

On this particular day it was the robot leader’s birthday.  Even though they ignored each other, it was customary to send a present to other dome.  There was no way to automatically send a present over to the other dome, so whomever (or whatever in the case of a robot) had to dress up in a special suit to survive in the other’s, horrible inhospitable dome.

I was the human sent to the robot dome with his present.  It was a typical bubble helmet suit.  The walk to the robot dome was quick, taking only a few seconds.  It was more walking across the street than to some other environment entirely.  Surprisingly, once in the dome, it looked exactly like the human dome.  I walked around the halls and rooms of the robot dome looking for something, anything to give this present to so I could go home.  But I found no one.  It was completely empty.

….. and that’s where I woke up.

It was weird.
