Cincinnati in a Day

Sam and I got up early yesterday and drove the almost four hours to Cincinnati.  It was a cloudy 65 degrees (later in the day…. It was colder earlier).

We first hit up the zoo (I love zoos).

Sam jumped into an eagle’s nest.

Saw extremely active Red Pandas.

And sent weird time stamped pictures to my family.

We got lunch at a place called Currito.  I got a really good chicken teriyaki buritto. We walked around Calhoun Street for a bit drinking some coffee before heading down to Smale Riverside Park.

We walked the park, hit up some swings and enjoyed the downtown riverside area.  It’s kind neat to say the other side of the river is Kentucky.

Kentucky is right there!

Swinging lifestyle (not that swinging lifestyle).

This is one of like 900 pictures I forced Sam to take with me.

We drove Northwest a bit and hit up Shake it Records. The produce and sell lp’s for our favorite band Wussy. We picked up two records, Funeral Dress II and a weird Carl Sagan record.

We didn’t have any other plans after that so we drove back north some and stopped to watch John Wick Chapter 2, because John Wick was an amazing movie. It did not disappoint.

We drove about an hour north bank towards Cleveland before deciding we just wanted to get a hotel and crash for the night.

Which was great because I got to wake up to this video from my nieces.

Which is quite possible the best way to end a trip and start my birthday.

Delaware Sunrise

Sam and I started a small tradition of getting up early one day on vacation and catching the sunrise.  I brought the tripod this time so I could set up the camera and catch us at the beach. I think it came out pretty nice.

Thanksgiving

WP_20151126_10_09_11_Rich_LII’ve had a Thanksgiving tradition making own meal and lounging the day away by myself ever since I moved to Cleveland years ago. It appears that tradition is dead now. But that’s ok.

Sam and I are spending Thanksgiving with her mom and brother in Madison at her parents. Its pretty great. Sam and her mom are working on the meal while I’m relaxing in the outer room.

I’ve got a book… Am listening to some Billie Holiday…texting family and drinking coffee.

It’s pretty wonderful. Even better… I’m staring at this view watching birds go crazy outside.

Nice Thanksgiving indeed.

Tinsel Pig

I now have the ultimate Christmas Decoration.  Sam surprised me with a gift after 13 hours of work yesterday.

There is a story here. For the last few years I’ve stared at Tinsel Pig on the site shelves and said or been told wait until it’s on sale after Christmas.  And every year it sells out before Christmas.

So to come home to find Tinsel Pig in my window made my night.
