Wet

It was a wet day by any means. It rained all day. But we didn’t let that ruin our day. We relaxed in the morning. No tv, no radio, no sound but the rain outside. Reading the news with a cup of coffee on the couch with Sam next to some open windows surrounded by cats. Awesome start to the day.

After a few hours of that we cleaned up and headed to Chuppa’s Market. Chuppa’s Market is always a little indulgent. Pretzel Bread rolls. Butter Toffee Peanuts. Honey Peanut Butter made from scratch. A Caramel Popcorn Cob. And more. It’s a fun shopping experience for when you can’t make it to the West Side Market (especially since the West Side Market is closed on Sunday).

We then went to the Natural History Museum. I recently bought Sam and I a membership there. It rocks. I love it. They have an outdoor animal section that is all emergency rescues. The raccoons and otter sections are fantastic.

For some reason it was packed. We had to park far away and walk there… In a downpour. I loved it. Sam.. Not as much. But then I thought about how awesome it would be to see the otters in the rain. Sam and I became “those people” who had no common sense to stay out of the rain. It was a blast.

We returned to inside the museum to walk around all soaking wet. I don’t think anyone came within 5 feet of us if they could avoid it. After about forty minutes of wandering around the dampness and cool air got to us and it was time to leave.

A warm night of laundry and homemade Garlic Chicken Alfredo was a perfect night ender.

When I die

I told Sam that I have planned out how I die.

You see when I die, I going to use my death to set up a mystery that only Reggie can solve. I’m sure he will need Pat’s help as well.

I can see it I perfectly. As I die my last words will be “get reg.”.

Reggie will show up and be like “One yellow shoe… Curious.”

After some thought and speculation he will deduce that the yellow shoe is in reference to the pair of yellow shoes I owned in college and that he needs to find the other shoe.

The mystery will evolve from there until the whole scenario somehow leads to Reg being indirectly responsible for my death.

Sam has since informed me that she would ensure my death by punching me if I ever try this.

A smashing New Year

2011 came in a decent way.  Sam and I headed over to her friends for a small gathering.  It wasn’t the most interesting gathering I’ve ever been at, but they did have some good homemade food that was pretty tasty (But really, no games, no things set up, just sort of sitting, and talking…. although they have just moved in).

However the smashing-ness of the evening didn’t come until later.  Sam and I left at 12:40 and walked out to her car in front of the house.  Out there we noticed her trunk was open, and in our optimism of the new year we figured we must have hit the button accidentally, or something to that sort.  We didn’t laugh about it, but did nonchalantly brush off the seriousness of it, until of course we walked around the driver side and saw her window was smashed.  Her car was a mess, everything had been gone through and tossed about.  Thankfully nothing was taken, but glass was everywhere and the 2011 suddenly took a turn for a worse.  Three cars on the street had been broken into.  The police, since it was New Year’s Eve, were obviously busy with other things, and I’m pretty sure they  couldn’t have done anything at all anyways.

So if 2011 starts on a low note, it has nowhere to go but up.  At least that’s what we decided.  So it was a smashing New Year’s Eve, that will hopefully lead to a fantastic whole year.
