I was riding passenger in a car on the way to Buffalo
on Halloween. It was really dark out. I thought it
would be neat to try to draw in the dark.

One of the neat things I always enjoyed about
teaching was the presents you got from students. Over
the summer one student gave me a head lamp. I have no
idea where he got the idea from, or why he thought I
needed one, but I appreciated the thought and it
turned into a drawing. One day I'll go spelunking.
10/29/08 14:01
I was sooooo tired this day. Ich Bin Mude means I am
tired in German.
10/28/08 13:59
WALL-E inspired obviously.
10/27/08 13:56
I didn't stop drawing. There were days I had to draw
make up drawings because of various obligations and
plain exhaustiveness, but its all back on track now.
As you can see with this drawing....all I thought of
was sleep.

I put on my old beret today. It was a felt one that
my friend Dan Yousey gave me after he went to France
in 1997. It then reminded me of a character I created
back in 1996 (I think....I know it was high school)
which I believe was named Pepe. He wore a beret,
smoked, and looked kinda like a skeleton. I always
figured he was French. So today's drawing is Pepe,
with a bunch of French stuff behind him. You can see
an outline of France, the Eiffel Tower, the French
Flag, wine and grapes, and the Arc de Triomphe.

One of the movies we watched today was Balls Of Fury.
Personally I love it and find it hilarious.
Jenna....not so much. But I had this idea of drawing
stick figures playing Ping Pong. I just made a quick
drawing...maybe later I'll retouch it.
10/24/08 00:20
I had looked at the video game American McGee's
Alice, and that's where the woman's head comes from.
The other is based off a portrait of Ethan Allen, the
revolutionary war hero. Then I went on to Futurama
Stick figures. I think when I draw a set of them I
like, I might make a futurama comic strip.
10/23/08 00:19
I was listening to Hyperbola today. A friend's band
that no long exists. But the band is very strange,
and motivated me.
10/22/08 00:26
I have to get used to drawing with ink. I just use a
regular ball point pen. I like it. Black ink. But I
need to keep from smudging my drawings as I go. I
don't ever draw from left to right or top to bottom,
rather I sketch all over the place. Especially on
drawings like these.
Tonight's sketch was a little strange. I was
listening to White Stripes while drawing. Started
with the two figures, then the eyeball (there's a
nose and mouth there too), the stack of books and guy
jumping off them, the woman's head, the mouth and
nose, the jar of flies, the two balloon faces, the
flower, truffala tree, and finally the pawn. It all
came to me. Don't ask how.
10/21/08 10:05
Started with Home Movies stick figures, but then I
was listening to the Clash for most of the evening,
so the drawings took that turn. I also drew a little
bit from album art for Siamese Dream and Danse
Macabre (the Faint).
10/20/08 21:43
My Futurama stick figures inspired me to doodle some
Dragon Ball Z stick figures. Nerdy I know, but what
the heck.
10/19/08 21:41
Futurama has always been one of my favorite cartoons.
I started with the giant Bender, then tried a smaller
one before settling on the stick figures, which I
thought came out great.
10/18/08 21:37
I bought Grape Ginger Ale this weekend. It inspired
me. Then I added a bunch of stick figures. Jenna said
it was kind of creepy to see the stick figures all
over the place.
10/17/08 21:31
I was at Tim Horton's when I drew this. Hence the
crazy donut.
10/16/08 22:58
I decided to doodle some aquatic life today.
10/15/08 23:34
I had no clue what to doodle, and wasn't feeling too
inspired, so I decided to see if I drew my stick
figures as well as I used to. I can draw myself no
problem. Matt and Sean aren't hard either. But it's
everyone else that is difficult. So I drew some
random ones, drew my nephew Rider, and tried to draw
a few girls, because I have trouble drawing female
stick figures too. I mean if you don't give a stick
figure boobs or a dress how would you know that its a
girl. And not all girls where dresses, and not all my
female stick figures will have giant boobs.
And because Pat asked, you should be able to click on
the picture to get a full version.
10/15/08 00:05
I drew Delirium today. She's a character from the
comic book series the Sandman. I think Reg introduced
me to the series way back in high school. Delirium
was always my favorite character, although Reg always
preferred Death. There are a slew of ways of drawing
her from the series. Here are three. I wish the ink
hadn't of smudged.
On another note, Pat says I should put full pictures
up on the site too. So I'll work on it.
10/13/08 23:59
I've made it a week. Wooooo. Its not hard. I actually
enjoy this. So today I went down to Edgewater Park
because it was such a nice day out. When you enter
the park you are on top of a hill right on Lake Erie.
You can see the coastline of downtown Cleveland. So
that's what I drew today.
10/12/08 22:20
Jenna came up yesterday. Amongst the things she
brought is an
Ugly Doll. THis particular
one is named
Babo. So I decided today's
drawing would be of Babo. Surrounded by stars.
10/11/08 14:30
Someone on my mind today. So I grabbed a bunch of
pictures and tried to make a drawing collage out of
them. I think it came out pretty good. My least
favorite out these are the two I drew first with the
rimmed hat on them. But it improved from there.
10/10/08 21:52
So I've been drinking again tonight. Here's the
sketch. Its reflective.
10/09/08 00:08
I wasn't in a good mood tonight. But I had this image
of a marionette doll. I just happened to dangle it
over a fire pit in a forest.
10/08/08 00:06
I had this image of a girl in a hoodie. From there I
just went with it (I was watching the Crow last
night...which led to an awful failed attempt at
adding him).
10/07/08 00:03
I haven't come up with themes yet. I really just
started with the giant cell phone, stars and then
people underneath the stars. From there I just wanted
to fill up the page.
